BASS GOD: Phil Lynott

Phil Lynott

Phil Lynott

Name : Phil Parris Lynott
DOB : August 20, 1949
DOD : January 4, 1986

Background:
Born in West Bromwhich, Lynott, the son of an Afro-Brazilian father and Irish mother would spend his formative years growing up in Moss Side, Manchester before moving to Dublin Ireland during his school years. After playing in a number of bands, most notable of which included a brief run in Skid Row, Lynott formed Thin Lizzy with Eric Bell and Eric Wrixon.

Known For:
Being one of the greatest rock and roll singers of his generation and dying way too early. Perhaps not so well known is the fact that just before his untimely demise he was planning on representing Ireland in the 1986 Eurovision song contest (which was one by Belgian Sandra Kim), which suggests that Lynott maybe was on somewhat of a decline creatively.
If you were to take a trip Harry Street in Dublin you will see a life-sized bronze statue of Phil Lynott.
