Hole bassist Melissa Auf der Maur has no Idea about Reunion

OK,  so recent news has let us know that amongst a host of others there is a Hole Reunion on the cards and a new album called Nobody’s Daughter, hopefully late 2009 or early 2010 it has been reported.

The post on british Muso Mag NME’s blog revealed that Melissa Auf der Maur had contributed backing vocals and would be playing bass guitar when the band went on tour.

But Auf der Maur said in an interview that she had not contributed any vocals to the album and hasn’t been asked to join them on tour. She also went on to say that she knew nothing of the reunion and claimed the first she heard of it was people sending her links just as she was arriving at the North By Northeast Music Festival in Torionto.

She was apparrently asked by Courtney Love’s Producer Michael Beinhorn to contribute backing vocals to the work Courtney was currently doing in the studio and she agreed. Since then, nothing had happened and Beinhorn has snce left the project.

There is some conjecture over whether the material was supposed to be Coutney Love’s second solo Album or whether it was a Hole record from the beginning.

Either way, Melissa Auf der Maur wont be considering a Hole reunion without guitarist Eric Erlandson.
Lets hope he knows something about it.
