Its been a little over 15 years since the grunge rock scene had its fatal blow delivered and Kurt Cobain took his own life, but its true to say that his is a legacy is alive and well today.
A young Cobain owned a Sear’s model Bass Guitar that was auctioned at Christie’s in New York on Tuesday 23rd June for a staggering $43,750.
Info from the auction house claimed that Cobain used the instrument on two early demo recordings made at his Aunt’s house near Seattle before the birth of Nirvana.
The demo’s, rare to all but the most die hard Kurt Cobain Fans we recorded under the names Organised Confusion in in 1982 and Fecal Matter in 1985.
The auction winner also took home a picture of the kid Cobain playing the instrument and a letter of authenticity from his Aunt Mari.
