Michael Anthony says ‘I didn’t quit Van Halen’

So, there has been a sort of verbal war between former band mates Eddie Van Halen and  bass player Michael Anthony. Van Halen, guitar god himself, said that Michael Anthony had quit the band of his own accord, but Anthony, who has now formed a new supergroup ‘Chickenfoot’ with the likes of Sammy Hagar and Chad Smith, is fuming as he claims that he was fired.

The on being informed of the band reunion, MichaelAnthony approached the band saying that he would lie to be included, but was rejected as in the eyes of his band mates he quit the band. Eddie is quoted as saying “Then, when we get back together… all of a sudden, he wants back in. It’s like, ‘No, dude, you quit the band.’”

He doesn’t quite remember his departure like that and told sources that “I never quit. I never once said ‘I’m outta here.’ It never happened” he went onto say “Why would I quit Van Halen?”
