Nirvana bassist pulls out of the County Clerk race.

Krist Novoselic, former Nirvana bassist has ended his run for office claiming to have made his point.

The point being that he was enraged by a local loop hole that allowed potential candidates running for the county clerks position to name their party affiliation.

Being politically active and believing that the position should not be filled on a party basis, he ran for the position himself, naming the seemingly non-existant Grange Party as his party affiliation. However, now believing that he has made his point he has pulled out of the race for the County Clerk position.

Writing on his blog for the Seattle post on the 12th June “My protest is over. I’ve officially withdrawn from the Wahkiakum County clerk race.”

“The worst thing you can call me is a crusader. I’m not a crusader, I’m just trying to make a point. And I think I made it crystal clear: It’s wrong for me to drag a private association unwittingly onto the public ballot.”
