Ok, so it has been reported that New Order as a band is officially dead.
It comes after a little set-to between vocals and guitar man Bernard Sumner and bassist Peter Hook last year.
Sumner and drummer Steven Morris wanted to carry on using the name New Order, but Hooky put a stop to that pretty quick. As a result of this Sumner, Morris and guitarist Phil Cunningham created a new band, at the same time they’ve stolen Blur’s Alex James as their low end purveyor.
But the band’s called ‘Bad Lieutenant’.
Errr… no.
Shit name or not, I’m sure its subjective anyway and may depend heavily on your view of the 1992 film starring Harvey Keitel, but I was fan of New Order….well some of it, and I’m quite intereseted to hear what it sounds like.
We are given to understand that there is an album ready and that ‘Bad Lieutenant will fill various festival spots this summer.
- Listnin' 2 Blind Melon's 2nd album 'Soup' after re-reading about sad death of Hoon in '95. Great Album, some stuning bass work on here too..
