The Harmonic Minor scale is the Minor Scale with a raised 7th.
Playing the scale ascending and descending automatically gives an eastern feel to the top of the scale.
From this you can begin to see how different scales and modes are used to create different feels to music.
Learn it in 3 positions on the fingerboard in the same octave. You will have to figure out a second fingering position to be able to play all 3. See if you can work it out.
