The MINOR Scale

g_minor_scaleABOVE : The G minor scale (G natural Minor or G Aeolian scale)
BELOW : The C minor scale (C natural Minor or C Aeolian scale)

Scales such as these should be second nature to anyone playing in a band or improvised situation. Knowing these scales gives you a framework for well constructed improvisation, whether you are just jamming in a  particular Key or reading from a chord chart. A lot of rock bands and musicians use the minor scale to write tunes.
You should aim to know this scale in 3 different positions on the fretboard but in the same octave.
NOTE: You will need a scond fingering position to complete all 3 postions in teh same octave. See if you can work it out.
