TM Stevens Signature – Zooloo Warrior

T.M. Stevens is the inventor of “heavy metal funk”, a well-sought studio musician, a highly regarded bassist, a bundle of energy and a flashy bird of paradise all wrapped up in one person. To fulfil all of his wishes and requirements in only one single signature bass seemed impossible. Not for Warwick! Along with T.M., the Warwick Custom Shop has designed, developed and built an absolute dream instrument, which might also be the most colourful bass in Warwick’s history. The main “theme” of the bass depicts harmoniously matched African motifs. Each bass is one-of-a-kind thanks to the masterfully airbrushed finish. Meticulous attention to detail combines a lion’s head with African motifs (such as Zulu warriors, Africa itself and colours commonly associated with the “dark continent”), framed by colourful stripes. These colours continue around the back side of the neck, while the back of the bass depicts more fanciful African motifs. The body wood is Plain-Rock-Maple.

The neck is made of Wenge with Afzelia strips. Elaborate Africa- and name-plate inlays with LEDs adorn the 24-fret Wenge fingerboard and the headstock features the iconic W-inlay. Although the Warwick T.M. Stevens Signature Bass Streamer Stage I is colourful and shiny, it is also absolutely serious, versed and full of “Thunder-funkin’” tone, compliments of active MEC P/J-pickups and active MEC 3-band electronics. The pot layout corresponds to the layout of the Warwick Streamer Stage I and the sparkling chrome hardware emphasizes the dazzling charisma of T.M. Stevens, embodied in this new signature bass from the Warwick Custom Shop.
